Who we are

BioCentral IB (biocentral-ib.com) is an independent IB Biology study site. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean BioCentral IB, and "you" means anyone who uses the site. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

What BioCentral IB is

BioCentral IB provides study notes, exam-style questions with markschemes, revision slides and a paper generator for the IB Diploma Programme Biology course, built for the 2023 syllabus (first assessment 2028).

BioCentral IB is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the International Baccalaureate Organization. "IB" and "International Baccalaureate" are trademarks of the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you're under 16, or under the age at which you can agree to these terms where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.

Your account

• Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current so you can reset your password.
• An account is for one person. Don't share your login or let others use your account.
• Paid accounts can be signed in on a limited number of devices at once: one for a student account, two for a teacher account. Signing in on another device signs out the oldest one.
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.

Free and paid access

Some lessons and all revision slides are free. The rest of the content and some features require Pro. What Pro includes and what it costs are shown on the pricing page, and those details form part of these terms.

Pro passes, payment and refunds

• Passes, not subscriptions. Student Pro is sold as a pass for a fixed period: 1 month, 3 months, 12 months, or until your exams (31 May of the exam year you tell us). You pay once, in advance. A pass never renews by itself and we never charge you again.
• Paying. For now, passes are paid by Whish transfer, with the payment code shown in the app written in the transfer note. Your pass starts when we've confirmed the payment arrived — usually within a few hours. If you renew while a pass is still running, the new one starts when the current one ends.
• When a pass ends, your account goes back to the free plan. Your account and saved progress stay.
• 7-day refund. If you change your mind, email [email protected] from your account's email address within 7 days of paying and we'll refund the full amount by the same method. Pro is removed when the refund is made.
• Prices may change, but never for a pass you've already paid for.
• Teacher Pro isn't on sale yet. School plans are agreed with each school by email.

How you may use the content

We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use BioCentral IB's content for your own study.

Teachers may also print, download and hand out papers made with the paper generator to their own students, and share paper codes with them, as part of teaching their own classes.

You may not:

• copy, republish, sell or otherwise distribute BioCentral IB's notes, questions, markschemes, slides or images, except as allowed above;
• use scripts, bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access or download the content;
• try to get around the limits on free access, or reach paid content without a paid plan;
• use the content to train or build AI or machine-learning systems;
• interfere with the site, its security, or other people's use of it.

Our content

The notes, questions, markschemes, slides, images and software on BioCentral IB belong to us or to those who licensed them to us, and are protected by copyright. Where we use images by others, they're credited alongside the image. These terms don't transfer any ownership to you.

Accuracy

We build every lesson against the official IB Biology guide and data booklet, and we check our content carefully. Even so, mistakes can slip through. BioCentral IB is study material to use alongside your teacher and your school's resources, not a replacement for them, and we can't guarantee any particular exam result. If you spot an error, please tell us.

Changes and availability

We keep improving BioCentral IB, so features and content will change. We aim to keep the site available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may need to pause it for maintenance.

Ending your use

You can stop using BioCentral IB at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — for example, one that shares its login or bulk-downloads content. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first.

Our responsibility to you

We provide BioCentral IB "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by your use of the content, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll tell account holders by email before it takes effect. If you keep using BioCentral IB after that, the updated terms apply.
